ADR training can now be approved as Periodic Training
DSA are pleased to announce that elements of dangerous goods training for LGV drivers can be counted as part of their Driver CPC periodic training.
The following amount of time of ADR training will count towards their periodic training:
Up to a maximum of 21 hours of the basic course
7 hours of the core module refresher course

What new article regarding new Instructions in Writing – ADR2009 & CDG2009
Nick Deal at the RHA has written to members of the National Dangerous Goods Training Consortium with the following:
As many of you will be aware a new document, Instructions in Writing (IiW) will be required for each transport unit next year. Specifically ADR2009 comes into effect from
01 January 2009 and the domestic regulations CDG2009 from 01 July 2009.

K Training is pleased to announce that, it has now been approved to carry out Radioactives (Class 7) ADR Training under the Dangerous Goods Driver Training Scheme and has appointed Bill Evans as one of the instructors for this Training. K Training can now offer ADR Training for all 9 U.N. Classes, both in Tanks and Other than in Tanks.

ADR 2007
The UN Economic Commission for Europe has finalised the preparation of a new set of amendments to ADR which should be soon endorsed by Contracting Parties and which will then come into force on 1 January 2007 for international transport, with a six month transitional period, and on 1 July 2007 for domestic traffic for member States of the European Union.

EMERGENCY ACTION CODE for UN 1202 (Gas Oil / Diesel)
The Emergency Action Code for this product has been changed and carriers have until 1st July 2005 to make sure that tankers are correctly marked to show 3Y and NOT 3Z.
