Ambient Temperature

Surrounding Temperature.

Decomposes

Breaks Down, Rotting Leaves.

Flammable

Burns readily. Same as Inflammable. Opposite is non-flammable.

Flashpoint

Tested temperature above which just enough vapour will be released from liquid to produce a flammable mixture with air.

Inert

Does not re-act. Will not combine with other materials.

Miscible

Mixes (Usually with water) Opposite is immiscible.

Nominally Empty

Container which is empty of product but has not been made risk free.

Purged

Steam cleaned (Made risk free).

Ullage

Space above product in a compartment/Tanker/Container.

Volatile

Evaporates easily, petrol.
